Social Media Specialist

As the Social Media Specialist you will have the opportunity to shape our external voice on a variety of social media platforms and on behalf of several key brandsincluding the ATI, APEA, & NursingCE. This is a dynamic role with high visibility that will blend a mix of organization, detail, editorial skill and a strong understanding of modern social media dynamics and tools.This position will be a hybrid position based out of our Leawood, KS office.
You will work to create, amplify, and measure our social media marketing programs for several critical educational products and other tools built for instructors and educators in a variety of industries and categories.
You will work collaboratively with marketing, design, product and sales team members to develop product and theme-based social media content to publish across channels-beginning with Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter-toward a B2B audience. You will monitor social data, trends, influencers and conversations, identifying and pursuing new ways to engage with customers and prospects.
This position will be a hybrid position based out of our Leawood, KS office.
Responsibilities:
- Develop social media content across multiple channels on behalf of multiple B2B brands that drives engagement, blog traffic and ultimately customers
- Attract, nurture, and retain customers with informative content developed in collaboration with internal and external subject matter experts
- Create and execute on a social media calendar that builds product awareness and thought leadership for multiple brands
- Identify and have familiarity with post boosting and other paid social media activities such as LinkedIn campaigns, Facebook and Twitter advertising
- Help with weekly and monthly reporting on analytics for blogs and social media
- Experience in messaging to educators a plus
Experience & Education:
- 5+ years of social media marketing experience
- Experience with social ads, budgets, and monitoring tools (ex. Hootsuite) strongly preferred
- Bachelor's degree required
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong writing skills. Must be able to create impactful content to address these needs
- Strong analytical skills. Must be able to experiment and measure results to improve performance and demonstrate success
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills. This role will support multiple brands and will have to balance competing needs.
This position requires that the employee be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, unless an exemption has been granted by Ascend Learning for a religious, health-related or other legally mandated reason, which will be considered on a case-by-case basis in accordance with applicable law. Ascend will accept all COVID-19 vaccines that have been approved or authorized for Emergency Use Authorization by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) or COVID-19 vaccines recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO).
Individuals are considered "fully vaccinated" (1) two weeks after their second dose in a 2-dose series (such as Pfizer or Moderna vaccines); or (2) two weeks after a single-dose vaccine (such as Johnson & Johnson's Janssen vaccine). Ascend Learning's current policy also requires that individuals visiting our offices be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
