Social Strategy Director
Job Description
We are currently seeking a Social Strategy Director who will work alongside an integrated team of strategists and creatives to drive innovative, inspiring & award winning work for one of our top priority client partnerships for a major retailer, with an emphasis on experiential marketing. You will be responsible for developing and executing a dedicated social strategy for a program that reaches diverse, national audiences across content, creators, commerce, and tentpole experiences. The ideal candidate isn’t afraid to get their hands dirty in the strategy & creative content development, partners and “plays well” with others and serves as a steward of best in class social.
Social strategy is a discipline that sits under the larger Giant Spoon Strategy Team umbrella. Our team is made up of strategists and makers who live and breathe internet culture, and work quickly to position our brands to lead the conversation and respond to the ever evolving interests and needs of our communities. Our team works across a variety of clients and projects, and this position will support and oversee work in other verticals that include entertainment, auto, fashion and/or new business development.
Responsibilities- Craft the overarching social strategy for the experiential program, including owned, partner, commerce and influencer partnerships across a year long experiential series
- Develop strategies for social commerce connections across channel and content strategy, staying abreast of the latest tools and tactics to drive sales across platforms.
- Brief creative teams in a variety of brand categories for platform-level creative campaigns, and be a trusted partner to to build on concepts and push social-first activations and content.
- Partner with brand strategy in developing strategic frameworks and messaging hierarchies across the broader program and individual experiences/activations.
- Be a department leader, role model and mentor for internal and external teams.
- Comfortably own projects with little oversight and while being a lead voice on client calls
- Be the voice of social culture and communities for the entire cross-disciplinary team and for the client: stay up to date on the latest trends, platforms and news; know how it applies to our industry and the client’s business
- 8+ years of experience as a social or content strategist in a creative agency.
- Passionate and knowledgeable about DEI, experienced in supporting experiential or DEI projects/initiatives for clients.
- Experience building and maintaining relationships with clients and their in-house teams.
- Clear communicator — written, visual and verbal, with the ability to observe and interpret information to uncover and clearly communicate actionable insights in a deck, remotely and in-person.
- Ability to work under multiple deadlines and parallel paths; strong project and time management skills.
- Resourceful, flexible and quick to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluency in measurement/KPI frameworks and reporting.
- Nice to have: Knowledge and experience with social commerce
The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $135,000 - $160,000. Salary is determined based on a wide range of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, job duties, and geographic location.
