About the Team

The Financials Core Accounting team is in the center of it all and has touch points with nearly all other financial application teams. Our team's overall goal is to provide high business value for our customers, by accelerating the delivery of our product features in an agile environment while safeguarding the high quality our customers expects from Workday financial applications.

About the Role

We are open to hiring at either a Software Application Engineer III or Software Application Engineer II level, depending on experience and skills of the selected candidate.

• Collaborate with the Product Manager and QA counterparts on the functional design and analysis of requirements
• Design and develop a product in a metadata-driven development environment
• Create and maintain robust, efficient and maintainable code using an object-oriented framework and class modeling
• Build and maintain reliable automated tests
• Fix customer reported issues
• Mentor and learn from other team members through pair programming, code reviews, knowledge exchange, hackathons, etc.

About You

Basic Qualifications - Software Application Engineer III

• 5+ years of development experience
• Object-oriented design and development experience in an OO language (such as Java, Python, C#, C++, XO, etc.)
• Experience designing and developing business applications

Basic Qualifications - Software Application Engineer II

• 2+ years of development experience
• Object-oriented design and development experience in an OO language (such as Java, Python, C#, C++, XO, etc.)
• Experience designing and developing business applications

Other Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a computer related field or equivalent work experience
• Must be a collaborative teammate with good verbal and written communication skills
• Strong working knowledge of design and analysis of software for performance
• Experience with UML, SaaS, XML and Integration technologies is a plus
• You think the key to good object-oriented development is strong design patterns
• You believe applications should be usable and configurable
