Job Description

Do you have enjoy driving innovation in the Industrial IoT space? Rockwell Automation is on the lookout for a Software and Analytics Communications Architect to join our elite team of engineers. You will help us redefine the future of software interactions within industrial components, process analytics-based roadmaps, and create novel prototypes.

As a Software Architect, reporting to the Manager of Advanced Engineering, you are on the forefront of a new wave of technology within IIoT (Industrial Automation (IA) / Operational Technology (OT)). Software is an important differentiation for IIoT Products and is a newly added main focus of our Advanced Engineering Organization with the accountability to Infuse modern software and data analytics technologies within industrial products used globally.

Your Responsibilities:

  • You will define and architect the software and analytics communication strategy for IIoT solutions in safety, sensing, logic and power control products.
  • You will collaborate with the Advanced Engineering Team to identify opportunities for technology adoption and lead their concept development. 10 plus years of coding experience is required.
  • You will develop a comprehensive analytics-based roadmap for future product enhancements and releases.
  • You will design, prototype, and validate solutions for seamless software interactions within industrial components.
  • You will collaborate with diverse teams to ensure understanding of product features and requirements, and guide the use of industry standards.
  • You will be the technical liaison between product management, software development, and customer-facing teams to ensure customer requirements are exceeded.
  • You will stay up-to-date on the latest industry trends, technologies, and competitive landscape to inspire creativity and continuous improvement.
  • You will mentor and provide guidance to junior team members, promoting a culture of innovation, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing.

The Essentials - You Will Have:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
  • Travel up to 10%

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 15+ yrs of related experience (software architecture or analytics, or communication technologies or software development in the IIoT or automotive domain).
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
  • Knowledge of communication protocols, Internet of Things technologies, and analytics platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and validating prototypes.
