Software Architect

This position is part of our Advanced Safety & User Experience segment.

About this Position

The Software Architect is responsible for all aspects of the software design and development. Delivery of all technical aspects of software architecture into the product design. Projects responsibilities include working with major OEMs to deliver Advanced Body Controller Module applications utilizing technologies such as embedded microprocessors and CAN/LIN protocols.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the software architecture planning, design and implementation - in particular:
  • Develop and implement architecture and verification plan
  • Drive and conduct code reviews
  • Advise project and program management in planning
  • Mentor development of team members
• Work with Product Development and Product Strategy teams to create software products containing required features and modifications
• Cooperation with system team in determining customer requirements and interface specifications between components
• Create technical customer interfaces to discuss, understand, describe, and document customer requirements.
• Present internally and to our customer: Design Reviews, SW Quality Audits, critical and complex embedded system issues.
• Coordinate technically complex issues resolutions between multiple modules, owners, sites and third party software.
• Actively participates make-vs-buy analysis.
• Explore and provide recommendations for software reuse.
• Making decisions regarding the software / hardware architecture - start center support.

Must Haves (Basic Qualifications):

• MSc or Bachelor degree in Electronics or Computer Science / Electronics or related
• Possesses Excellent communication skills
• Experience with formal UML architectural design tools such as Enterprise Architect
• Good knowledge in field of software engineering and embedded systems architecture HW/SW
• Minimum 10 years of experience in the embedded software industry
• Experience with Operating Systems/RTOS (OSEK, AutoSAR) or applicable for automotive systems

Nice to Haves (Preferred Qualifications):

• Experience with Body Controller Modules/Gateway product development
• Experience with low level drivers - SPI, I2C, and/or Ethernet drivers
• Experience with developing SW on Renesas/Infineon/Freescale 16/32 bit microcontrollers
• Experience with vehicle protocols - CAN, LIN, Flex Ray, Ethernet
• Familiarity with Automotive SPICE
• Familiarity with Agile methodology
• Knowledge of C/C++
