Software Architect
Job Description
The CPL Software group in Deer Park is seeking a Software Architect for the RnD team. This individual will be responsible for the customer software architecture working with other system components. A motivated, self-starter is needed, who has the skills and vision to provide technical direction to the team across multiple regions. The engineer must be able to work with minimum supervision in a challenging environment.
• Basic Responsibilities:• Definition, documentation and maintenance of software architecture models with SysML/UML• Definition of software architecture, specifications and requirements conforming to functionality, performance, quality, timing and effort/costs• Defining guidelines for software architecture process• Assignment of software requirements to sub modules and SW components• Developing the framework for the software design and code• Communicate and guide team to the correct direction.
• Additional Responsibilities:• Creation and delivery of technical presentations for both external customers and internal groups• Contribution to company internal and external work groups• Nonfunctional feature testing (performance, memory, )• Identify and resolve crashes and system failures• Targeted system optimization• Developing and debugging software in a real-time, embedded, multiprocessor, multi-interface environment• Some amount of domestic and international travel may be required
Job Requirements
• Core Capabilities:• C, C++ programming languages• Embedded Linux• Able to read analog and digital hardware schematics• Exemplary verbal and written communication skills• Software architect experience• Able to apply design/development tools as required (FMEA, 8D Methodology, etc.)• Ensures that all designs meet customer requirements; works with customer to ensure requirements are totally understood.
Required Qualifications:• Bachelor's Degree in Computer, Electrical Engineering or equivalent• 3+ years embedded software engineering experience• Multi-core experience• Cellular/wireless communications experience• C, C++ programming languages• Embedded Linux• Able to read analog and digital hardware schematics• Exemplary verbal and written communication skills• Software architect experience• Able to apply design/development tools as required (FMEA, 8D Methodology, etc.)• Ensures that all designs meet customer requirements; works with customer to ensure requirements are totally understood.
• Preferred Qualifications:• Master's Degree in Computer, Electrical Engineering or equivalent• 5+ years Automotive embedded software Architecture experience• 5+ years Telematics engineering experience• SW Security & Privacy• SW Functional Safety• Automotive product development process (SPICE)• Automotive HW and embedded SW experience• Vehicle network bus systems experience (Autosar, Ethernet, CAN)
