Software Architect

SUMMARY:

The ABOUT Software Architect is responsible for the design and development of the technology framework supporting our commercial product offerings that are designed to connect those in need with those who heal, faster. The Architect is responsible for working with a core team of technical resources to ensure that our software solutions are designed for optimal performance, security, stability and scalability. Through technical thought leadership, the Architect supports the application and interface design for current product deployments as well as next generation initiatives. This key technical leader will also partner closely with the enterprise architecture team, technical product owners, market-facing product managers and software engineering to provide design guidance on our Access Center technologies along with other complimentary software solutions. Lastly, the insights and guidance on acquisition and deployment of other tools and application will be a core area of influence for the Architect.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Design cloud native applications, including micro-service architectures, SQL database design, API design, web / mobile applications, and 3rd party integrations
• Communicate ideas effectively to Business and Technical audiences using a variety of written and verbal communication styles, including, but not limited to: ADRs, modeling tools, architectural diagrams, and wireframes
• Collaborate effectively with Product and Release Managers during Blueprints to define scope and provide meaningful estimates and timelines
• Provide technical leadership, such as training, mentoring, and on-boarding
• Develop frameworks and libraries to reduce complexity and minimize redundancy
• Lead Threat Modeling discussions with the development team to identify security risks
• Define systems and processes to support Continuous Delivery and improve Software Delivery Performance

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Need to Have:

• Bachelor's of Science Degree in Computer Science or another related field
• 7+ years of software engineering experience
• 3+ years of native cloud development experience
• 3+ years of architecting and implementing systems and applications

Nice to Have:

• Prior experience working in a private equity-funded organization.
• AWS Solutions Architect Associate or Professional certification preferred or equivalent for Azure
• Healthcare technology experience.

Required Knowledge and Skills

Required Knowledge:

• Correct business English, including spelling, grammar and punctuation.

• Knowledge of one or more source code management systems, testing frameworks and IDE's
• Basic understanding of open web standards (REST, JSON, GraphQL, WebSockets, gRPC)
• Strong knowledge of web security (HTTPS, CORS, CSP, OAuth / OIDC, XSS, CSRF)
• Basic knowledge and understanding of current innovative and early adopter technology trends
• Strong understanding of the SDLC and well-versed with Scrum development

Required Skills:

• Experience leading development projects and/or teams
• Experience with .NET and Java tech stacks
• Passion for using software to solve complex problems while using the right tools for the job
• Highly skilled with common application architectural patterns (DI, MV*, OOP, SOA)
• Strong with advanced architectural patterns (SOLID Principles, Common abstraction patterns, 12-Factor apps, etc.)
• Efficient in laying the groundwork for green field projects (Infra as Code, CI/CD, API and Web App scaffolding, etc.)
• Passion for understanding the underlying domains of solutions to better target domain driven design
• Well versed in cloud native application development and cloud infrastructure/architecture
• Hunger for learning new things and technologies and a drive to stretch your abilities
• Guides and refines engineering culture/values/guiding principles
