JOB SUMMARY

The Software Architect provides senior-level technical leadership to the development team, guides successful technical adoption through mentoring, instruction, and by actively participating in software development projects within the organization.

This position will work closely with the Enterprise Architect and the director of IT. 

JOB DETAILS

• Location: In office, hybrid, or remote working options. Corporate office is in Indianapolis, IN

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Remain on the forefront of emerging industry practices.
• Ensure architecture, design, and technological decisions are driven by a clear focus on the intended business needs, current requirements, and future roadmap
• Responsible for developing, architecting, maintaining, implementing, and ensuring compliance with project, security and software development standards, processes, and procedures.
• Provide guidance and direction to the development team to ensure architectural integrity of the products and that various design and technological decisions are harmonious with the over-all architecture, other parts of the platform, and the future roadmap.
• Develop, maintain, and govern development standards, procedures and best practices.
• Conduct technical research, concept coding, and prototyping
• Assist in developing strategy documentation and input into business strategy documentation
• Lead design reviews with technical leads and business stakeholders as appropriate
• Perform and ensure proper code reviews
• Advance current job knowledge by researching new technologies, participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
• Possess a thorough understanding of IMG’s technical development capabilities.
• Inspire coworkers to attain goals and pursue excellence.
• Identify opportunities for improvement and makes constructive suggestions for change.
• Understanding of cloud strategies such as AWS or Azure

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
• Appropriate application development experience
• Appropriate Technical Lead or Architect experience
• Good understanding of modeling techniques, architectural patterns, design patterns, and proficiency with object-oriented analysis, design, and development
• Proven experience creating executable plans to accomplish business and development goals.
• Ability to convey ideas and concepts to a wide range of audience including product management and engineers
• Experience with commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures of IMG
• Strong verbal and written skills

PREFERRED SKILLS 

• Advanced experience with a variety of the following: C#, .NET Framework, .NET Core, ASP.NET, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, or XML
• Thorough understanding of basic Internet protocols such as HTTP, SMTP, SOAP, SSL, WSDL, and REST 
• Experienced with SQL Server 2005 - 2017, T-SQL, stored procedures, and user-defined functions
