Job Description

Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) is a cloud native security service edge (SSE) solution that builds on a decade of secure web gateway leadership. The Architect role involves developing an overall architecture and finding ways to improve scalability and reliability of the SSE,  and Zero Trust Security Services. This role involves working across cross functional teams in proposing and building innovative ways to improve security services to a more modern Micro services based architecture to be able to horizontally scale seamlessly. The Architect role will involve being the technical advisor to the  engineering executive leadership across the Zscaler organizations.

The ZIA Architect will be responsible for:

• Architecting and building highly scalable and reliable security services  in ZScaler and Public cloud environments.
• Innovate and re-architect existing products or services to meet the ever growing scalability needs of the customers. 
• Collaborate with internal ZScaler teams to guide and direct engineers on how to innovate on ideas from ground zero to reality using the best software development principles
• Building Distributed Database systems and solutions that are highly secure
• Ability to research into innovative ways to build security services in Zscaler or public cloud environments
• Collaborate with Product Managers to fulfill product roadmap and with Technology partners to bring innovative solutions to market
• Be the technical advisor to the ZScaler executive leadership team on evaluating and building new product ideas.
• Building technical solutions involving third party products, open source and partners 
• Strong knowledge and experience of Microservices architectures

Qualifications

• 15+ years software engineering experience with 10+ years as an architect
• Strong experience in building networking and security services
• Hands on Networking programming experience with VPN like technologies
• Strong knowledge of L2/L3 networking protocols and services - HTTP, TCP/IP, SSL/TLS, SAML, and Identity Federation.
• Strong Experience with Web Proxy, Networking, and Firewall products. 
• Strong Knowledge of user Federation and Distributed Database systems
• Experience with complexities of a secure and hardened cross-platform software development is a strong plus
• Passion for excellence in high quality product development processes and best practices 
• Ability to architect products from ground up and lead the teams from the front in building and delivering services.

Education Requirements

• Bachelors/Masters in Computer Science or related fields is required.
