Software Business Analyst – Billing Applications

Are you up to the challenge?

• Translate complex business rules into software requirements for inflight Wi-Fi billing applications
• Collaborate with Account Management teams to identify business needs, break down and document operations into clear, actionable Jira stories with documented acceptance criteria
• Work cross functionally with Revenue Accounting to ensure accuracy and integrity of the data generated by the Team's billing applications
• Create Jira stories and assist in grooming and sprint planning activities. Serve as SCRUM master for the project team.
• Work closely with Software Developers to ensure business requirements are met and projects are delivered on schedule.

• Assist the QA team with the development of test cases and ongoing testing activities, clarifying acceptance criteria and use cases as needed to meet project requirements
• Perform ad-hoc analysis on complex billing datasets to root-cause billing related data issues that may arise in various systems across the ecosystem
• Work with large and complex databases and create SQL queries to analyze and investigate dimensional and transactional data
• Participate in month-end financial close activities to ensure monthly billing files and related operations successfully execute, including performing basic data quality checks on the files produced
• Support the business when billing related issues arise, including identifying source data issues and working in collaboration with other development teams to identify and resolve problems

You should definitely have:

• Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years' experience as a business analyst or data analyst working in a software development environment.
• 3+ years' experience translating business rules into computational logic and software development requirements.
• Proficiency with SQL coding and the ability to author SQL queries to analyze large data sets across multiple data sources.
• Proficiency working with large, complex relational databases and datasets. Ability to connect to multiple data sources and join disparate datasets. Familiarity with the tools and applications used to retrieve and analyze complex data.
• Extensive experience with MS Excel including expertise using pivot tables
• Self-starter capable of independent investigation of legacy processes with ability to become a SME in the space
• Ability to work autonomously and with small cross-functional teams.
• Strong communication skills including technical documentation and presentations and the ability to listen and communicate effectively with functional leaders.

It would be nice if you had:

• Experience working with financial system data, financial transaction processing, and accounting principles
• Experience serving as SCRUM master for a software development team
• Familiarity with the AWS Cloud ecosystem and the suite of components used to deploy applications in AWS
