Position Title: Software Delivery & Reliability Engineer

Reports to: West Coast Development Leader

Job Type: Full time, permanent

Location: (Langford) Victoria, BC

All successful candidates are required to reside within commuting distance of our Langford/Victoria office location. Plexxis does not offer remote work opportunities.

Salary Range: $61,500 - $155,000

What You Will Do

As a Software Delivery & Reliability engineer at Plexxis, you will...

• Develop software delivery solutions across the entire stack, from hardware selection & monitoring, database and API development, to Web Client programming in Typescript.
• Create robust deployment and telemetry services to improve efficiency in delivering, monitoring, and supporting our client facing products.
• Facilitate data driven development by increasing the accessibility of performance and resource utilization monitoring tools.
• Design and program alerting and issue escalation procedures.
• Collaborate with other teams to understand their environment needs, and develop systems to deliver these environments, including Development, QA, and Production.

Requirements

• An insatiable eagerness to bring value to others by solving complex problems.
• Strong programming skills with the ability to materially contribute to rapid development cycles.
• Strong familiarity with Linux systems and automation.
• Experience with Docker and container orchestration technologies.
• Knowledge of network architecture, network security, and TCP/IP.
• Demonstrated passion for building and maintaining large scale systems.
• Excellent communication skills and an ability to thrive under pressure.

Nice to Have

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field.
• Experience in a 24x7 production environment.
• Production Experience with IPV6.
• Experience in Go, Rust, and Typescript.
• Facility with concepts such as Public Key Cryptography, OAuth, OIDC, etc.
• Experience with Proxmox, VMWare, Kubernetes, AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, etc.
• Familiarity with Oracle and PostgresSQL databases.
