Software Design Engineer, Jr

Torch is seeking qualified candidates to continue the goal of provided a single diagnostics solution for platform data buses to the Army. The DS-Viper application currently supports 70+ platforms over several data protocols allowing a technician to interrogate with the electronic, on-board systems that manage the platform. This provides the technician advanced level diagnostic data that allows them to efficiently maintain a platform's mission ready status. Candidates would be responsible for using in-house software and hardware tools to interrogate and analyze platform (vehicle/ship/weapon/etc.) data bus traffic and using that information to create data parsers and configuration files that are used by the DS-Viper application to interface with the target platform. With experience, the role will grow to involve writing code to interface with future data bus protocols, interfacing with unmanaged DLLs, and making UI updates as needed.

Job Requirements

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.

Desirable skills include the following:

• C#
• WPF
• XAML
• MVVM Design Pattern
• TFS/Git Experience
• Experience working in a Scrum development team.
• Experience performing bitwise operations on data traffic is a plus.
• Experience with analysis of CAN/J1939/J1708/ISO 9141 or similar bus traffic is a huge plus.
