The Anti-Abuse Platforms at Yahoo, enables Yahoo's technology teams to develop, deploy and operate products efficiently and reliably on an integrated, scalable platform and framework that offers anti-abuse and image enrichment solutions from the ground up.
As a high-traffic destination on the Internet, Yahoo is a prime target of attack via spam, phishing, denial-of-service, inappropriate user generated content (including comments & media) and various other forms of abuse. The Abuse Prevention Platforms team at Yahoo innovates, designs and develops scalable systems to detect and filter abusive traffic and user generated content for all Yahoo sites. Our image enrichment solutions extend beyond moderation and allow our customers to better understand and innovate on images.
Our team is building the next generation of highly scalable systems to process and filter web scale traffic. We partner with sciences and innovating on various technologies including machine learning methodologies for better understanding of traffic and content.
Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable platforms, primarily in Java or C++ on distributed systems
• Develop large-scale traffic protection systems and/or content classification systems to filter spam, adult, profane and other objectionable text/image/video/URLs or otherwise provide content enrichment
• Design and develop enhancements to various tools supporting the traffic protection and content moderation & enrichment platform.
• Ensure quality and performance of components developed
• Engage with teams to define requirements/interfaces/implementation approaches
• Exercise agile development methodologies to create platform services and features

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in web infrastructure, distributed systems, and/or large-scale databases
• Strong experience in Java / Python / C/C++
• Solid fundamentals in data structures and algorithms.
• Experience in object-oriented programming and design
• Experience with container and cloud technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, AWS - a strong plus
• Experience with either of Big data technologies, ML, full stack dev experience (including front end), Lua , Traffic server - a strong plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Self-motivated and able to work independently
• BS in Computer Science or equivalent or MS preferred

If hired for this position in Colorado, the compensation range for this position is between $97,500.00 - $162,500.00. The compensation may vary depending on your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include additional incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, plus equity incentives. Yahoo provides industry-leading benefits including healthcare, retirement, company holidays, vacation, sick time, parental leave and an employee assistance program.
