Software Developer

We support customers throughout the Department of Defense and U.S. Government in building innovative new tools to deliver unique world-class data exploitation capabilities.

SciTec has an immediate opportunity for a Software Developer (Entry Level through Principle) to deliver software solutions to our customers. In this opportunity, you will work with our multi-disciplinary team to develop additional features and functionalities for our software modeling Overhead Persistent InfraRed (OPIR) sensors. Our ideal candidate is a well-rounded, experienced engineer who works well as a part of a team, prioritizes the quality of their product, and seizes opportunities to be creative, learn and grow as a developer.

Responsibilities

• Work independently and with our team to develop additional software features to satisfy contract requirements
• Assist in containerization, testing, and deployment of software for delivery to customers
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in the physical sciences, mathematics, engineering, or computer science or an associate degree with relevant experience

• Experience with programming languages - e.g., Python or C++
• Desire for code quality, not only in writing well-crafted code but participating in sprint planning, unit tests, and documentation in the process
• The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance
• Detail oriented
• Good verbal and written communication skills

Candidates who have any of the following skills will be preferred:

• An advanced degree in the physical sciences, mathematics, engineering, or computer science
• DevSecOps experience applying new technology frameworks/methodologies to containerized application development and deployment.
• Experience using Helm, Kubernetes, AWS, and/or govcloud
• Experience with the exploitation and analysis of OPIR, E/O, SAR, Spectral, RF, or other remotely sensed data

The pay range for this position is $77,792 - $171,808 / year. SciTec considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
