Software Developer - Frontend Developer

Introduction
The Instana Issue Detection team is looking for a Backend Software Engineer to join our team in San Jose.
At Instana we process and analyze millions of spans traces metrics and events per second in order to provide actionable APM intelligence to our rapidly expanding customer base.
As part of a multi functional team you’ll help expanding Instana’s Issue Detection and Resolution platform. Your role will cover the whole software engineering life cycle from technical design to implementation quality assurance delivery to production as well as maintenance and customer support. If you’re interested it is also possible to support the designer of the team on requirements engineering tasks as well as in customer interviews. Together with your peers you’ll work on a Java based streaming backend which is connected via gRPC and leverages Dropwizard Kafka and Clickhouse mainly. In close collaboration with the two other teams you’ll contribute to create the best issue detection and resolution platform on the market for our customers.

Your Role and Responsibilities
Instana is looking for a Frontend Software Engineer as part of Team EndUserMonitoring to work out of the IBM office in Kochi. On the frontend side you will be working in close collaboration with product managers product designers peer frontend engineers and backend engineers to (re)design and implement existing and new features to deliver new capabilities for our product. EndUserMonitoring is one of the important cornerstones in our enterprise observability platform to help organizations to identify and troubleshoot issues that impact the user experience furthermore to optimize their applications for better performance and user satisfaction. We are looking for Software Engineers who are curious about learning new technologies and excited by inventing new ways to solve complex technical challenges.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Solid knowledge of common tools used in software development lifecycle including CICD and test automation.
• Familiar with JavaScript.
• Familiar with HTML/CSS ideally including concepts like modularization accessibility and layouting.
• React experience ideally including React hooks and technical component design.
• Able to learn quickly and work in cross-functional teams.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Excellent communication skills.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Knowledge of Application Monitoring tools and frameworks like OpenTelemetry.
• Familiar with popular CICD pipelines and automation test frameworks.
• Experiences with cross-platform frameworks e.g. React Vue Angular Ionic ReactNative Xamarin.
