About this role

As a Software Developer in Product Cybersecurity Innovation, you will be responsible for contributing to solutions in the cybersecurity space as well as being mentored from other technical leaders. The person in this role will be security minded and have a successful track record of working with teammates to solve complex challenges.

The purpose of the Global Product Cybersecurity Innovation group is the enhancement of Carrier products and services, and assurance of cyber competitive advantage by driving:

  • Value into Carrier's product and services by delivering innovative solutions in the cyber domain
  • Brand reputation and advancement within the product cyber domain
  • Secure development, continuous improvement and security maturity of products and services
  • Product innovation and differentiation leveraging cybersecurity capabilities and expertise

Our mission is to increase the value and security of Carrier solutions by working with product security stakeholders to identify strategic opportunities and deliver on those opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to an array of software solutions including but not limited to cloud, web, mobile and IoT using a variety of technologies
  • Develop CI/CD pipelines in a variety of tooling for DevOps
  • Contribute to cybersecurity solutions to bring additional value to Carrier offerings
  • Contribute to solution designs not only with solution implementation but also with security controls in order to meet secure design requirements
  • Support cyber related feature and function development, implement security related modules and solutions, and foster new product development and innovation
  • Participate in design reviews
  • Support ad hoc initiatives within the cybersecurity-engineering domain, as needed
  • Provide critical support as required for all major Product Security missions, including Secure Development, Operations, and Innovation
  • Position Carrier in a world class position within the Product Security domain

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent
  • 3+ years software product delivery experience and production experience
  • 1+ years demonstrated experience of working with cross-functional teams and handling complex challenges to deliver results

Preferred Qualifications

  • Problem solving ability and competence illustrated by experience
  • Experience in system design & architecture experience - new product, innovation and/or maintenance
  • Understanding of DevOps
  • Product delivery experience and production experience
  • Exceptional cross-functional and multi-domain practical aptitude
  • Continuous broadening of technical domain proficiency
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle, practices and activities
  • Exceptional communication, mentorship, diplomatic and leadership skills
  • Experience with asynchronous programming
  • Experience and knowledge of development using a variety of languages and tools
  • Experience and understanding of Agile software development practices
  • New product development, invention, and innovation - especially cybersecurity related
  • Experience with multiple cloud platforms
  • Experience with IoT
  • Experience with machine learning and data collection
  • Experience with firmware development
  • Experience in the building technologies domain, especially HVAC, Refrigeration, Fire, Physical Security, Video Surveillance and/or related services

Location

  • Atlanta or Boston Area is preferred
  • Remote work may be considered based on the candidate
