Software Developer II (Fullstack)

Tower Research Capital, a high-frequency proprietary trading firm founded in 1998, seeks a talented Full Stack Developer to join our Production Engineering team.

The Production Engineering division is responsible for providing innovative processes and tools for the operation of Tower’s trading platforms.

Responsibilities

• Playing a key role in strategic projects to automate Tower’s production environment
• Disrupting traditional processes by developing innovative applications
• Creating and expanding our in-house tools and developing an agile framework that adapts to quickly evolving requirements
• Liaising with and supporting other technical teams
• Building software to collect, analyze, and visualize large amounts of data
• Identifying opportunities to use technology to solve trading infrastructure management challenges

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of work experience in a Linux environment
• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science
• Fluency in at least one back-end programming language
• Python, java
• Expertise in at least one full stack or frontend framework (preferably Vue.js)
• Experience contributing to large distributed applications
• Experience with HTTP servers, caching, and building web services
• Exposure to systems and/or network automation, monitoring, and alerting

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of messaging or stream processing platforms like Apache Kafka
• Full stack development experience
• Self-starting and can work autonomously within a team
• Able to write clean, reliable, and maintainable code
• An excellent communicator
• Able to learn quickly and take on new responsibilities as priorities change
• Organized and detail-oriented

Financial experience is not required.
