Responsibilities and duties to include:

• Undertake the full development lifecycle of a global enterprise class application
• Produce high quality software solutions within time and budget
• Create and execute innovative IT solutions to problems
• Work within a team and focus on continuous improvement and learning
• Some limited travel will be required to include North America/Europe/Brazil
• Provide support of existing applications to an agreed SLA
• Facilitate and support onsite deployments of major projects

Skills that are required:

• Proactive can-do attitude and work ethic
• Ability to adapt to new technologies and ideas
• Communications skills both written and oral
• Degree or third level qualification in IT or equivalent experience
• Full understanding of querying relational databases
• 2+ years development experience of successfully delivering development projects in a commercial environment
• Working knowledge of Unix/Linux Operating System and commands
• Good business process analysis skills
• A strong service and business focus
• The ability to work under pressure and deliver to changing business demands
• Ability to see bigger picture and understand a global application focus
• Ability to code to standards and take direction as to general coding methods

Skills that would be advantageous:

• Development experience: Progress/OpenEdge CHUI, WebSpeed
• Development experience: JavaScript and HTML is an advantage
• Knowledge of Object Oriented development especially within OpenEdge
• EDI skills and experience especially Sterling Integrator
• XML file manipulation skills and experience
• Experience and understanding of the Supply Chain/Logistics industry
• The ability to mentor other developers and take the lead on key project elements
• Knowledge of source code control applications and how they fit into the SDLC
• Knowledge of networking and optimisation of applications to operate over a WAN
• Knowledge of HTMLSBootstrapJQuery including web design
• Web Server Experience IIS/Apache
