Division Overview

Hubbell Power Systems (HPS) engages in the design and manufacture of a wide variety of products used by utilities. Today, HPS is deeply engaged in product solutions for OSP Communication utility purposes, and has been actively growing that segment of the business. HPS roots have historically been in high voltage transmission, distribution, substation, underground products used by electric utilities. HPS products are also used in the civil construction, transportation, gas and water industries.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Software Development Engineer to join our team. As a member of an Agile development team, this role is responsible for the design, implementation, testing, and operation of new and existing software components within our products. Candidates for this role should be versatile and enthusiastic about tackling new problems across the full solution stack as we continue to innovate.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Analyze requirements for feasibility and implementation strategy.
• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code.
• Collaborate with team to ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the applications.
• Escalate issues in a timely manner and provides mitigation recommendations for same.
• Respond to customer escalations and maintain existing code, refactoring as needed to provide highly reliable solutions.
• Take initiative and works independently under minimal supervision to plan and accomplish goals.
• Work closely with cross functional team including quality assurance and documentation with a focus on team success.
• Continuously strive to make the process better through regular retrospectives and application of findings.

Skills and Experience

• At least 3+ years of software development experience and a Bachelor's degree.
• Experience and/or degree must be directly relevant to Computer Science, Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Proficient in .Net, C# and solid understanding of object-oriented programming.
• Familiarity with design patterns such as MVC, MVP and MVVM
• Proficient in web technologies such as ASP.Net preferred
• Experience with mobile application development is a plus
• Experience with relational databases.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
