We are looking for talented individuals who can help design, develop, deploy, and support integration services using leading edge technology. They will also provide technical direction and mentoring to entry-level developers along with ensuring that processes are documented and comply with business strategic needs, security requirements, and coding standards. In addition, they will consult with other IT application groups, IT architecture department, project management, and security to ensure that appropriate design considerations are made. They need to possess an understanding of application environments, interfaces, third-party components and integration architecture along with working with system support personnel and documents operational requirements for application support.

The main purpose of this job is to provide technical direction and mentoring to entry-level developers along with ensuring that processes are documented and comply with business strategic needs, security requirements, and coding standards. In addition, they will consult with other IT application groups, IT architecture department, project management, and security to ensure that appropriate design considerations are made

Essential Functions

• Analyze, design, and develop complex, object-oriented applications without assistance in an Agile environment
• Work with a Scrum team to lead development of new features and enhance existing functionality while maintaining security best practices
• Design, develop and implement complex applications and systems
• Perform code reviews to ensure high coding standards are being met by others who are committing code
• Provide ongoing enhancements, maintenance, and support in existing systems and platforms
• Partner with Enterprise Architecture by designing solutions adhering to the standards set forth
• Provide production support, including limited after-hours support as needed
• Provide recommendations for continuous improvement
• Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

• Strong knowledge of implementing SOA concepts, practices, and trends
• Strong knowledge of Web Service standards and technologies including HTTP, SOAP, REST, Schema & WSDL
• Strong knowledge of Security Concepts and demonstrated experience with securing network communications
• Strong knowledge of Java, Spring Framework, Apache Tomcat, JSON, XML and WSDL
• Strong knowledge of front end, back end, and API development in Java
• Intermediate to strong understanding or enterprise, domain and software architectural concepts
• Intermediate knowledge of micro services
• Intermediate knowledge of Linux, bash, and version control (Git preferred)
• Intermediate development experience with SQL, including an understanding of relations database concepts and design
• Ability to troubleshoot issues with an analytical mindset
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively with multiple technical and non-technical groups
• Strong mentoring and training skills
• Ability to work on multiple competing priorities with little supervision
• Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Inquisitive, agile, and strong team player with excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with our culture and Core Values.
• Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in information systems preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience required
• 7+ years Agile software development experience required
• 7+ years experience in a development role utilizing at least one Object-Oriented programming language required
• Experience in the development and execution of unit, integration, system, load and stress testing within a defined testing structure and environment required
• Java experience preferred
• DevOps, Apache Camel, Apigee, and/or Kafka experience preferred
• Unit tests experience preferred

The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for any applicable differentials (geographic, bilingual, or shift) that could be associated with the position or where it is filled. At Commerce, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each situation. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay is $99,500 to $135,000 annually. This position will be eligible for additional compensation through performance-based incentive plan(s) that will correspond to meeting performance goals.
