Software Development Engineer in Test

Job Summary:

Mueller Water Products is looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), a technical software test engineer with a focus on developing automated tests. In addition to participating in typical QA activities, this engineer will be a part of an Agile team and will work alongside developers to help automate the Acceptance Criteria in user stories--setting up frameworks on multiple application platforms (Web, Mobile, and Desktop). A successful candidate will also be able to test data movement workflows in an automated fashion and will have a good working knowledge of cloud computing with a preference for AWS.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Code, maintain, and operate automated tests on web and mobile platforms
• Create and manage bug reports
• Building test scenarios and frameworks based on acceptance tests
• Work with deployments teams to resolve issues
• Collaborate with the development team on bug fix verification and validation (regression testing)
• Support, design, develop, and enhance test and reporting processes
• Working knowledge and understanding of automated testing suites for REST APIs

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience as an SDET, developer, or strong Automation Engineer
• BS CE, or CS degree or comparable technical certifications + work experience
• 4+ years' experience in software quality assurance
• Proven track record of leading complex initiatives to closure
• Knowledge of Python, .NET, Java or other programming languages
• Strong SQL experience
• Experience with "AGILE + DevOps" process management methodology
• A working knowledge of multiple test methodologies and the related tools, i.e., MS Test, NUnit, TestNG, Selenium WebDriver, etc.
• Exposure to cloud managed services - AWS, GCP, or Azure (AWS Preferred)
• Exposure to multiple software development lifecycle methodologies and practices - BDD, SBE or TDD
• Debugging/troubleshooting experience on performance and stability tools

Preferred:

• Experience with cloud-based testing using Cloud Synthetics and Puppeteer
• Experience with performance and scale testing frameworks like Artillery
