Job Summary

The Standard is seeking a Software Developer in Test III (SDET III) to focus on automation around testing. This position will develop automated testing integrated into our continuous integration, continuous deployment, and continuous test (CI/CD/CT) pipelines. Bring your best practices related to investigating, architecting, designing, and implementing application test and verification solutions. This includes testing and verification of existing features & functions to testing of new solutions, which meet The Standard’s business needs.

Investigation

Investigation starts with understanding the business problem to be solved. SDET may lead or participate in requirements gathering that will feed an iterative-based methodology. Multiple application technologies, and project/product needs are commonly identified, and are integrated into existing or new solutions. SDET’s are expected to be proficient at investigative process, which enables designing and implementing these solutions.

Architect and Design

Design solutions using agile test-driven methodology and DevOps/ DataOps best practices. SDET can design and develop data products while also being responsible for the quality of the data through full lifecycle testing. They will work collaboratively with software architects and developers, to design, develop, and implement test automation frameworks, strategies, and solutions to ensure product quality and improve Cycle Time. SDETs are expected to utilize open-source, third-party and internally developed solutions to meet business needs. Data product or software development in multiple modem languages is required with good proficiency.

Implement

SDETs are expected to build and automate the data product testing process, including data/ application testing framework, and processes. Apply your proficiency in the current industry toolsets and knowledge of industry best practices.

Skills and Background You’ll Need

  • EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • EXPERIENCE: Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience. 
  • SKILLS: Python / pytest, SQL, Databricks, experience in Cloud engineering (Azure highly preferred), CI/ CD/ CT pipeline (Azure DevOps preferred), ETL
  • METHODS: Object-Oriented Design Patterns, White / Graybox Testing Methodologies, Types of tests (from Smoke Tests to Full Regression Tests), and Test Data Management / Data Masking / Synthetic Data
  • SDETs must possess critical thinking and leverage that in a collaborative team-based environment. The ability to play varying roles comfortably is required. Strong communication skills are required, as well as the ability to be self-directed.

Please note - the salary range for this role is listed below. In addition to salary, our package includes incentive plan participation and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits, as well as an initial PTO accrual of 164 hours per year. Employees also receive 11 paid holidays and 2 wellness days per year.

 

  • Eligibility to participate in an incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program and plan. Any award depends on various factors, including individual and organizational performance.

Salary Range:

$90,250.00 - $153,500.00
