Software Development Engineer - Mentor

Idea Entity, a Microsoft Gold Partner, is looking for a Software Development Engineer - Mentor who will assume a key mentorship role on our team. This role has responsibility for understanding our digital workspace platform that enables organizations to transform their business processes through portals, dashboards, and workflows.

We are looking for candidates who are collaborative team players, with a passion for software development and technology, as well as a results-oriented approach. The ideal candidate is an avid communicator and eager to contribute to the team's success. Each project may represent a new set of challenges that will provide the right candidate exposure to new clients, new business issues, as well as will involve a range of responsibilities.

This role will be operating on a hybrid schedule with two (2) telework days a week out of our office in either Herndon, VA, San Antonio, TX, or Peoria, IL.

Requirements

Your responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and deliver high quality software that meets or exceeds the demands for availability, reliability, security, and performance
• Lead development builds and milestone deliveries for multiple projects
• Conduct daily sync meetings and manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables
• Mentor and coach Junior Developers
• Utilize disciplined Software Engineering principles in order to engage and grow Junior Developers
• Stay on top of industry trends and standards
• Drive code and design reviews to completion
• Collaborate with our solution teams, analyze their requirements, prioritize and drive features to closure with high quality
• Be a collaborative team player to define, design, develop, test, deploy, and support software
• Active communication across the team
• Bring creative and innovative thinking to your work
• Maintain code integrity and organization

Requirements:

• Five (5) years software development experience in full product cycle: design, development, release, maintenance, and project management
• Strong understanding of disciplined Software Engineering and Agile principles
• Experience with Agile project management techniques
• Excellent interpersonal and group dynamic skills
• Strong written & verbal communication and presentation skills
• Experience in managing software development teams
• Experience in building on web technologies and frameworks (React/JavaScript/TypeScript/HTML/CSS/jQuery/REST API)
• Experience with designing and implementing large systems and databases
• Experience with code versioning tools such as Azure DevOps and GIT
• Experience with conducting design reviews and code reviews
• Understanding and implementation of security and data protection
• Excellent object-oriented design and coding

Education:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related engineering discipline

Preferred, but not required:

• Experience with mobile applications development
• Experience with progressive web apps
• Interest and ability to learn other coding languages as needed
• MCTS or MCPD certifications
