Software Development Engineer, Senior (Cobol/Linux)
Job Description
Our Software Development Engineer designs, develops, tests, installs, and maintains systems, applications, and related processes to meet the functional objectives of the business.
You Can Look Forward To:
Ensures adherence to established technology standards and consults with senior leadership on technology solutions. Supports existing system and is responsible for leading technical aspects of a project. Assigning resources and delegating tasks to meet project deliverables.
What you will need to have:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent experience.
- 0-5 years of software development engineering experience.
- Working knowledge in a Linux operating environment - proficient with COBOL, MF COBOL, NET COBOL, VSAM, DB2 and working with Microsoft and Linux tools environment.
- Knowledge of the following: File Transmission (FTP/NDM) and batch processing
- Application Production Support - ability to provide 24x7 support for up to a week at a time.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in technical design writing and documentation.
- Proficient with usage of MS office - Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, TEAMS, Visio.
- Work independently and collaborate in team design session
- Strong unit testing skills
