How will you make an impact?

Our interns are matched to projects based on their abilities and current business needs. All projects will have significant strategic and/or operating importance to the business to which they are assigned.

Summer projects may include the following responsibilities:

• As part of the R&D organization, the CMD software team in San Jose, CA develops application software for Mass Spectrometry Data and Instruments, which you will be part of.
• Design, develop, deploy life sciences software applications that have a strong Web UI component.
• Build data acquisition and workflow software involving set up of sample injections, acquisition of data via control of various mass spectrometry instruments, processing raw data and generating reports.
• Develop and integrate GPT/AI based improvements for all applications!
• Build backend services using microservices paradigms and support front end Web UI based development.
• Participate in code, design, and test plan reviews.
• Develop software in, and maintain C# code on backend, and or Web development with TypeScript on front end.

Start Date: This internship is set to begin on either May 12th or June 16th, 2025 for a duration of 10-12 weeks – dependent upon student availability per academic calendars.

Compensation & Relocation: Our undergraduate Information Technology internships offer an hourly rate between $21.50 - $28.75 dependent upon the location you are supporting (aligned to respective cost-of-living guidelines). Additionally, a relocation stipend is offered in the amount of $5,000 if necessary. Student must be located 50+ miles away from the physical location of the internship to be eligible for the relocation stipend.

How will you get here?

• Undergraduate student completing a Computer Science or Biotechnology related degree between December 2025 and June 2026.
• Passion for User Interaction, User Interfaces and web development
• Knowledge of web programming frameworks like React and TypeScript.
• Curiosity about Scientific Data Processing
• 0 years of work experience required; previous related internships preferred.
• Consistent track record of results demonstrating integrity, innovation, involvement, and intensity.
• Energized through championing change, driven in getting results, and savvy in navigating ambiguity.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills with a high degree of emotional intelligence.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in California is $18.50–$30.50.
