Software Development Lead
Job Description
The WORK
- Leads the architecture and design of complex enterprise applications, primarily using a Java software stack and Microsoft SQL Server databases.
- Establishes and maintains coding standards and configuration management standards for the development team.
- Monitors development team activity in Jira and Bitbucket to ensure User Story progress is current and commits are tracked properly.
- Coordinates with other technical teams as necessary to establish and maintain system integrations.
- Contributes to technical documentation as necessary to satisfy deliverables for each application release.
- Participates in daily scrum reviews with all team members to report progress, blockers, and open action items.
- Remediates 508 accessibility shortfalls in software applications based on ANDI compliance reports.
- Demonstrates a thorough grasp of the principles, theories, and concepts of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile design and development processes.
- Participates in code peer reviews as both an author and a reviewer.
The REQUIREMENTS
- A BS or MS degree in computer science or a related field.
- Minimum of five years of software development lead experience, preferably in support of a government customer.
- Ability to work on the client site in Washington, DC
- Demonstrated complex problem-solving experience using a variety of techniques and technologies (database query tuning, network traffic analysis, load testing, etc.)
- Significant experience with Enterprise Java, HTML, and JavaScript
- Familiar with Linux, especially in a containerized environment such as OpenShift or Kubernetes
- Expertise with SQL and creating SQL scripts.
- Familiar with 508 accessibility standards.
- Must be willing to work on site, full-time, in Downtown DC. Remote support is permitted as a result of the COVID pandemic, but remote work may be rescinded by the customer.
- Must be able to report for work M-F, 5 days a week. Alternative flex schedule allowed within normal work hours (i.e., between the hours of 7 am - 6 pm).
- Must be able to obtain a DOJ Public Trust clearance.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) Executive Office for United States Attorneys (EOUSA) provides executive and administrative support for the 93 United States Attorneys located throughout the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Guam, the Marianas Islands, Puerto Rico, and the U. S. Virgin Islands. Such support includes legal education, administrative oversight, technical support, and the creation of uniform policies, among other responsibilities.
