Software Development Manager

As a Software Development Manager you will lead and contribute to the core components that IBM’s products are built on-top of you will work with observability automation reliability answering questions with data and delivering scalable solutions for the right problem. Working on continuous integration agile and DevOps model. You will own the Development Process Continuous Integration and Operations of the products you own and provide coaching and supporting teams to deliver objectives and coordinate with stakeholders across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Team Management:

• Develop a high-performing team of software developers – hire motivate inspire

• Assure technical and domain knowledge growth in the team .

• Provide coaching mentorship and guidance to team members fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.

• Measure team and individual performance

• Set clear goals and objectives monitor progress and provide regular feedback.

• Project Management:

• Collaborate with Product Managers and external teams in delivering business value

• Provide timelines technical advi ce to the business projects

• Identify and mitigate risks ensuring project success.

• Track project progress and report on key metrics.

• Technical Leadership:

• Level up code standards architecture and SDLC in the team or teams

• Stay up to date with the latest software development technologies and trends.

• Provide technical guidance and support to the development team.

• Collaborate with architects and engineers to design and implement scalable and efficient software solutions.

• You will partner with product managers designers and other engineering leaders to build/refine the product roadmap and establish engineering goals.

• You will collaborate with the leadership team to continuously manage trade-offs between scope resources and time during the development lifecycle.

• Quality Assurance:

• Establish quality standards and processes.

• Oversee testing activities and ensure product quality.

• Implement continuous improvement practices with the team and product.

• Oversee and achieve ambitious goals for performance stability scalability and quality of the products.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or a related field.

• Proven experience in software development management and leading software development team or teams.

• Strong technical skills including proficiency in web development in React AWS solutions and backend engineering (preferably in Java)

• Proven track record of leading successful software development projects. We will ask for really solid examples!

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

• Experience in working with big-data based solutions and understanding of performance challenges and solutions would be a great benefit .
