IBM compilers are at the cutting edge of compilation technology targeting a variety of hardware and software; including z/OS on IBM Z Systems as well as AIX & Linux on IBM Power. We produce compilers for a range of source languages (C C++ COBOL Fortran Go Java PL/I PL/X Python Node.js and HLASM) optimized for IBM Z Systems and IBM Power. Our squads are autonomous multi-disciplinary teams consisting of talented software developers with knowledge in new and up and coming language standards hardware design compiler optimization expertise open source language development and proven software development skills.

Your responsibilities include:

• Lead a newly formed team to become expert compiler developers on z/OS with ability to enhance Compiler and address client issues meet release dates along with committed deliverables on-time and with quality
• Partner with cross-functional global team including architects technical leaders product management to understand customer requirements and business prioritization and build development plans
• Plan and manage component design coding and functional testing to drive quality of deliverable
• Balance priorities and work assignments across team members following agile processes to meet delivery schedules
• Drive development activities monitor progress collaborate to align dependencies remove blockers for team members and manage risk
• People management of technical talents executing HR programs for employee acquisition development performance management and optimization retention and separation

• Experience working with open-source projects
