Position Overview

Autodesk is seeking a highly self-motivated and experienced Software Development Manager to lead one of our Inventor/Fusion 360 SW Development teams within our Design and Manufacturing organization. Inventor is a Windows based 3D CAD software that provides professional-grade mechanical design, documentation, and product simulation tools with 1 million+ users worldwide. Fusion 360 is Autodesk's newest cloud-based 3D CAD software. This team is responsible for the development of multiple modeling, configurations, and workflow improvement efforts.

As an ideal candidate, you will excel at being a mentor and coach to engineers at all points of their career. You are comfortable in an agile environment and know how to build a highly effective team. You will be leading a group of talented software developers as we continue to perfect Inventor workflows and build core CAD capabilities in Fusion 360.

Responsibilities

• Promote a culture of continuous improvement and personal growth through goal setting, ongoing feedback, coaching, and tracking of performance. Support individual career development and provide necessary training opportunities
• Work with Product Managers, Product Owners, Software Architects, and other key stakeholders to build meaningful release plans and make critical decisions that balance customer value delivery and technical needs for both short- and long-term success
• Lead a globally distributed team with talented team members in a hybrid/remote work setting and Scrum framework to deliver high quality solutions in response to corporate strategy and customer requirements. In this role, it is likely that you'll also play one of the key Agile roles (Product Owner, Scrum Master, or Technical Project Manager)
• Foster collaborative relationships across teams to accomplish holistic organizational goals
• Be the spokesperson for the team and champion their accomplishments with upper management and adjacent teams

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
• 7 years of experience leading, managing, and mentoring teams in an Engineering discipline and record of delivering large scale C++ commercial software on Windows and Mac (Less experience will be considered for filling at less senior grade level)
• 3 years of experience leading tech leads, senior software engineers, and agile roles like Product Owner and Scrum Master
• Proven ability to manage and resolve complex and ambiguous issues
• Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders
• Solid understanding of all phases of software development lifecycle from analyzing the needs to delivery of working software
• Work with team to breakdown complex technical requirements into logical execution slices
• Experience with scrum and agile development processes and methodologies
• Proactive, inclusive, quick decision maker with excellent communication and written skills
• Comfortable working within, and managing, a globally distributed team within a hybrid/remote working model
