Job Description

Software Development Manager II (Denver, CO) Duties: Provide hands-on technical leadership within Bandwidth’s software development team. Serve as main point of contact for project related application deployments and continuous delivery practices. Lead the development team by facilitating delivery of business value via high quality software by digging into team’s code to understand how it works and ensure peak quality and performance. Lead team using cloud-based architectures in a scalable manner, as well as application of full automation and best quality software delivery practices. Coordinate the team through their agile process, ensuring that their work is well formulated, dependencies are satisfied, and that the team is effectively self-organizing and executing by making application of Scrum and Kanban methods. Apply a critical eye to technical issues to identify opportunities for team improvement, as well as proper use of all relevant technologies such as IP Networking, Web Protocols, REST, relational and non-relational databases, etc. Utilize expertise with web services and service-oriented architecture delivery to address performance issues honestly and compassionately when they arise, without allowing them to linger. Responsible for evaluating and developing individuals. Be a constant coach for software engineering reports, celebrating their successes, and helping them to grow to become even better engineers.

Required: Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field of study plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or related software development position. 

Must have 3 years of experience with:

  • Leading and managing teams using cloud-based architectures in a scalable manner.
  • Leading globally distributed teams across different continents to build and operate mission-critical business functionality.
  • Project management and delivering software solutions.
  • Developing long-term strategy for data platform development and translating it into achievable roadmap.
  • At least one or more DevOps methodologies (Jenkins, AWS CDK, Terraform).
  • Automation, CI/CD and continuous measurement and improvement of engineering productivity metrics.
  • At least one or more Big Data technologies both on-premises based and cloud-based (Oracle, Elastic Stack, AWS Aurora, Apache Cassandra).
  • Relational and nonrelational data stores.
  • Data Warehouses Snowflake, Oracle, or PostgreSQL.
  • Cloud Architecture.
  • At least one Business Intelligence tool such as Kibana or similar.
  • Building Analytics Dashboards.
  • At least one of more ETL-Data processing technologies (Filebeat, Logstash or similar).
  • At least one or more front-end languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, JQuery, Angular, React, Bootstrap or similar).

 

National and international travel required up to 8% of the time. Salary $201,344 per year. Position is eligible for MBO leadership bonus plan and is stock eligible.
