Job Description Summary
The Software Engineer will report to the Manager, Software Engineering working remotely downtown Chicago IL headquarters. This role contributes to the Engineering of enterprise scale Freight Tech solutions that enable Echo's business while supporting the strategic architectural vision of quality, scalability, performance and function. The Software Engineer is an active member on a dynamic team looking build Best in Class logistics software. The ideal candidate for this role not only is able to produce high quality work quickly, but also interested in learning and applying new technologies.
Responsibilities:
• Active member of a software development team that solves challenges and builds working software iteratively
• Works as part of Agile scrum cross-functional team that includes UX, Product Owner and QA testers to break down user stories into small functional slices
• Produces both front end and back end high quality code that's ready to use quickly while following Agile Scrum
• Promotes collective code ownership so that everyone has visibility into the feature codebase
• Supports and is accountable for timely releases and adherence to release activities
• Resolves defects in a timely and effective manner
• Carries out root cause analysis on defects to ensure fixes are happening in the right way
• Always open to new ideas and encourages innovative practices amongst peers
• Willingness to promote and participate in new initiatives (i.e. CoE initiatives)
Requirements:
• 2+ years Software Engineering experience including business application development
• 2+ years of experience working with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and .NET programming languages. Experience with Angular is preferred, however React and/or Vue are acceptable as well
• 2+ year of experience developing a commercial-grade business application leveraging data structures, DBMS, SOA Architecture or writing code in OO programming language ideal
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related years of experience and technical skills
• Strong time and project management skills in a fast-paced environment
• Good communication skills and strong sense of ownership
Nice to Haves:
• 2+ years experience with working on cloud hosted application (AWS preferred)
• 2+ years experience with utilizing and enhancing Elasticsearch
• 1+ years of experience with or certifications on containers and orchestration layers (Docker and Kubernetes preferred)
