Software Engineer

We seek a Software Engineer to join our virtual team. If you’re someone who has a passion for good engineering and understands the fundamentals of cloud computing and scalable system design working with architects and the product team to design and develop the backend web services that power our giving platform, and the challenge of scaling product success at a high performing Fintech-for-Good company sounds exciting, we would love to connect with you!  

You’ll get to:

• Serving as a key member of our agile team that drives user story analysis and elaboration, design and develop highly scaled web service using modern agile engineering practices 
• Perform hands-on software development throughout the whole software development life cycle from requirements gathering, development, and testing to deployment 
• Develop high-quality coverage of unit tests
• Perform maintenance work for existing web services of the Givelify system 
• Provide engineering support to our customer support team to resolve any critical customer issues 
• Bring a culture of innovation, ideas, and continuous improvement
• Embrace fast-paced work culture and possess the ability to adapt to changes 

You should bring mad skills & experience:

• A Bachelor’s Degree, M.S./Ph.D. with relevant academic/research experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or equivalent degree (STEM)
• Minimum 1-2 years of software development experience 
• Experience in designing and developing large-scale distributed systems
• Excellent in object-oriented design and programming
• Experience in Agile development practice and continuous integration/continuous delivery environment (CI/CD)
• Experience in PHP, Laravel, Python or REACT is a plus
• Experience with public cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, etc.) is also a plus
• Good attitude, communications skills, and willingness to learn and collaborate
