Job Summary

As a Software Engineer with Identiv, you will be part of our flag-ship Velocity physical access control software team. The Velocity software ecosystem consists of Velocity desktop and web applications and several server components, either on-premises or in the cloud. You will play a crucial role modernizing our products with efficient, testable and scalable code. You will be involved in the full software lifecycle including planning, refining, coding, testing, peer reviews, and DevOps.

Expertise in .NET/C# using scalable architecture, systems thinking, and understanding and power of incremental delivery via agile processes is required. C++ and Embedded Linux is a bonus!

Location Santa Ana with some flexibility to WFH

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

• Write API and services code for applications and IoT Edge clients.
• Participate and contribute positively to team activities like sprint planning, backlog refinement, system demos, architecture/design sessions, and retrospectives.
• Follow and contribute positively to coding standards, the definition of ready/done, and tooling/testing infrastructure.
• Implement various coding tasks following software engineering best practices. Refactor where possible and write secure, efficient & testable code.
• Use TDD concepts to write unit & integration tests and ensure code coverage and high quality.
• Participate in code reviews, documentation, tooling, QA, and testing activities.
• Periodically review issues, reproduce and conduct root cause analysis.
• Discuss/design components, design patterns and mentor/engage other engineers in the design discussions.

Requirements

• Extensive experience developing .NET, C#, & SQL
• Minimum of 3 years experience in a full-time Software Engineering role
• Experience with socket & async communication in a multimode environment
• Experience with Agile SDLC processes like SAFe/Scrum and fast delivery cycles
• Experience with SCM tools like Git, SVN. Utilizing version control and pull requests
• Background in scripting languages (Python, JavaScript)
• Strong background in problem-solving and analytical skills
• Must be able to communicate effectively and present design ideas

Additional highly desired experience

• SOA, microservices, Web/REST API development and pub/sub pattern
• Experience developing APIs (plus if applications in IOT/Edge scenarios)
• Familiar with Containerization tools (Docker, etc.)
• Experience frontend JS frameworks like React
• Experience with Jira

Education

Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field and/or relevant work experience

This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. Your salary/compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience.

In the spirit of pay transparency, the base salary range for this position is between $100,000 - $130,000 annually.
