Department Overview
The ASTRO Devices End-to-End Test Team is responsible for validating the software running in our mission critical life-saving devices that first responders and the people they serve depend on every minute of every day. Our testing constitutes the last layer of defense before products are released to the field. Our mission is to ensure that the products meet the requirements and related quality level before they are released. As a Software Engineer in Test, you will be an integral part of the Engineering Team designing, implementing, and verifying new solutions, ensuring the quality of our mission critical products. You must be capable of analyzing product requirements and software functionality to develop new, sustainable test solutions. You will build a working knowledge of our products and corresponding feature functionalities in the process of designing, implementing and executing automated solutions. In order to do this successfully, you need to be a self-starter who is up to the challenge of analyzing possible solutions and building ones that are reusable, guaranteeing our products are functioning at the high quality that is required.
Responsibilities:
Understand product requirements and matching test cases
Setup Test Environment in preparation for test cases execution
Automate test cases using proprietary tools and/or industry standards
Execute test cases, analyze results and report all detected issues/defects
Track reported issues/defects
Collaborate with other team members and test managers.
Keep abreast of industry standards and newest testing methodologies and tools
Support the Test Manager in achieving their strategic goals for the Test Team
Provide technical know-how, documentation and training to test and other business functions
Preferred Skills:
Object oriented design principles
Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
Android testing experience is a plus
Software engineering programming and analysis
Strong troubleshooting/problem solving skills
Product lifecycle knowledge with emphasis on development and testing methodologies
Agile development methodology a plus
Travel Required:
Travel up to 10% annually is expected for this position.

Basic Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Electrical Engineering (or similar discipline)
