Roles and responsibilities

  • Design, develop, document, test, and debug new and existing software systems and applications
  • Work effectively as part of a team with a technical lead providing guidance and oversight
  • Provide and receive feedback in code reviews
  • Proactively and constructively advocate for improvement on behalf of the organization, your team, and yourself
  • Assist in identifying and evaluating new technologies for implementation

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship - all positions require a U.S. Security Clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar technical field
  • Java, C++, or similar object-oriented programming language
  • Version control systems, such as Git or Mercurial
  • Build tools, such as Gradle or Maven
  • Initiative and the ability to work independently and collaborate within a team
  • Ability to communicate effectively via multiple mediums
  • Prepared to immediately contribute readable, tested, and documented code with mentoring from a team

  • Strong foundation in algorithms and data structures and their real-world use cases
  • Solid understanding of computer systems and networks
  • Production quality coding standards and patterns

  • Other JVM Languages such as Kotlin, Groovy, Scala or Clojure
  • Front end development experience with RESTful API design, JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular, HTML, ClojureScript, NodeJS, and/or ReactJS
  • Experience with relational and key value data stores, such as PostgreSQL, Cassandra, MongoDB, or Redis
  • Experience with NASA WorldWind, OSGi, Netty, ATAK, Android, Apache Camel, OMG DDS, Protocol Buffers, Avro, OpenGL/GLES, and/or AWS
  • Domain experience with software defined radios, GNU Radio, Redhawk, electronic warfare, signals processing/intelligence, and/or geospatial data/visualization
