Software Engineer

As a Software Engineer at Bonterra, you will play a key part on the engineering team that develops and maintains functionality for our peer-to-peer fundraising, giving days, and year-round giving applications. You will work closely with engineers and product managers to help build a best-in-class fundraising product.
This position is fully remote with in-person meetings as necessary.
Tools/Frameworks you'll work with:• Tools: Heroku, GitHub, Pivotal Tracker, JIRA, CircleCI, BrowserStack• Frameworks/Languages: Ruby on Rails, Vue, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, SQL (PostgreSQL)
Responsibilities:• Work with developers, product managers, and clients to design and build features for our peer-to-peer fundraising, giving days, and year-round applications.• Collaborate with Customer Success and Project management teams to understand user needs and implement impactful giving day and everyday giving solutions.• Develop scalable features for our growing nonprofit and giving day user base.• Provide peer code reviews to ensure that code conforms to our standards and provide feedback.• Provide excellent support for clients and our Customer Success team.
What we're looking for:• Openness to learning new things• Positive, supportive, and welcoming attitude for all members of the team• 2+ years experience with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript• 1+ years experience with Ruby on Rails• Familiar with web accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 and Section 508) and best practices• Experience with GitHub, Heroku, Amazon S3/EC2, Circle CI, Redis, Sidekiq, DNS management, NewRelic, REST web services, RSpec• Experience with Agile Development Process• Experience with mobile responsive design• Able to work independently with little supervision• Strong written oral and verbal communication skills
