In 1986, Biscom introduced the world's first network-based computer fax server. Today, the company has evolved from its humble beginnings into a leading secure communication and messaging platform that powers the most complex requirements in industries, including healthcare and financial services, where security and speed matters most. As part of a recent investment by ParkerGale Capital at the tail end of 2021, the company is preparing to undergo a period of transformation and growth in 2023 and beyond.

This position will report to the Head of Engineering in the Westford, MA location.

What You'll Accomplish - Your Performance Objectives

Objective #1: In your first 30 days you will:

• Check out current source code repositories and configure development environment.
• Deliver your first bug fix in our code base and participate in our code review process.
• Partner with a team lead to accelerate your on-boarding process and get up to speed on our SOPs.

Objective #2: In your first 3 months you will:

• Develop new feature, collaborating with the design and product team to go from requirements to feature completion.
• Actively be a participant in peer code review process.
• Establish ownership and responsibility for entire lifecycle: development, test, release, and subsequent fixes and improvements.

Objective #3: In your first 6 months you will:

• Own small-to-medium features from technical design through completion.
• Develop solutions that are operationally stable and easy to understand and maintain.
• Regularly deliver software on-time and is constantly working to make accurate estimates and deliver on those estimates.

Technical Skills: Full-stack engineering industry experience. Experience implementing front ends using technologies such as Angular, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and/or other modern frameworks. Evidence of exposure to architectural patterns of a large, high-scale applications (e.g., well-designed APIs, high volume data pipelines, efficient algorithms). Established software development habits: object-oriented design, unit testing, integration testing, data structures, etc. Some experience with C# / .NET development desirable.
