NOV - Software Engineer

NOV Digital Products and Automation are currently recruiting a Software Engineer to join our team in Houston, TX. As part of an agile team, this position will drive web development, support the Analytics infrastructure, automation, and cloud technologies.

Description:

• Design / Develop / maintain web applications, APIs, content management systems, and integration with cloud technologies.
• Design/Build and maintain data pipelines and data science infrastructure
• Participate in technical planning & requirements, gathering phases including Design, Code, Test, Troubleshoot, and document engineering software applications.
• Drive and establish best practices for process and tools
• Collaborate with your team and teams across NOV to deliver solutions and evolve products
• Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
• Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.

Key Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in hands-on development required.
• Hybrid work schedule (3 days in the office and 2 days remote work).
• Location: 10353 Richmond Ave., Houston, TX 77042.
• Experienced with programming languages Ex: Java, .NET, Python, etc.
• Front-end development skills related to CSS/CSS3, JavaScript, HTML5
• Experience in working with web technologies, NodeJS experience a plus
• Experience with data visualization tool Tableau, Grafana a plus.
• Proficient experience using database languages Ex. SQL, MongoDB (NoSQL - Object Oriented), OSI PI (NoSQL - Timeseries), PostgreSQL.
• Good understanding of containers, build systems, and infrastructure automation
• Experience designing, building, and maintaining RESTful APIs
• Experience with Git, CI/CD tools
• Knowledge of the AWS services a plus
• Ability to handle a fast-paced work environment, deadlines, and new challenges
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• High-level ownership, self-sufficient, hands-on leader to drive quality and maintain application stability
• Eager to embrace current and emerging web technologies

Education & Experience:

• BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field (or combined with related experience) required.
