The Pricing team is responsible for the systems that support fee and foreign exchange (FX) for PayPal’s payments system. Other systems that are developed and supported by the team provide for the ability to set up experiments in price sensitivity as well as suggest optimal pricing strategies based on historic data.Come join us to change the future of payments.

Responsibilities:
- Provide Run the Business support to all data related products under Financial Products Platform. This includes but not limited to Pricing Datamart, STI-TIC.
- Own the development, testing and maintenance aspects of Project - ETL, Data Quality, Visualization, Documentation, and Support.
- Build scalable systems on Hadoop, Google Cloud Platform and Teradata Ecosystems, lead technical discussions, participate in code reviews, guide the team in engineering best practices. Must be able to write quality code and build secure, highly available systems.
- Design, develop, troubleshoots and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
- Participating and collaborating with cross functional teams in the organization to understand the business requirements and to deliver solutions that can scale.
- Perform rigorous data analysis to proactively identify any inconsistencies or data quality issues. Provide recommendations for improvements.
- Develop a strong understanding of different data sources, and strategically implement data flows for robustness and scalability.
- Provide technical leadership and contribute to the definition, development, integration, test, documentation, and support across multiple platforms (Unix, GCP, Hadoop, Teradata, Informatica, SQL, RDBMS, Kafka).
- Highly detailed with a systematic approach, sense of responsibility, ownership and strong, positive customer focus. Must be results focused and highly energetic to drive the defined team and organizational goals.
- Must have demonstrably strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal), to include speaking clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations.
- A strong articulate communicator with business acumen who can work efficiently and effectively with key stakeholders across multiple teams and geographies to define and produce business metrics and insights within a given time frame.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Engineering or equivalent from a leading university and preferably with a masters.
- 6+ years of post-college working experience as a developer and architect in Engineering (must).
- 2+ years of Linux/Unix coding experience (including scripting) is required (must).
- Expert level knowledge in Unix, Hadoop, Teradata, Informatica, SQL, Oracle.
- Familiarity with GCP (or any cloud technology), modern messaging queues like Kafka.
- Agile methodology experience is highly preferred.
- Experience working with teams in a global complex matrix organization involving multiple reporting lines.
- Strong conceptual and creative problem-solving skills; ability to work with considerable ambiguity; ability to learn new and complex concepts quickly. Relentlessly resourceful and scrappy.
- A great communicator, strong project management skills, and superb attention to details (must).
