Software Engineer

First Orion is seeking a talented Software Engineer to join our collaborative and winning First Orion Data Products team. This team provides businesses with identity verification solutions that help companies recognize legitimate customers, detect fraudulent transactions, and improve business performance. At the core of our services is our large-scale data assets that businesses use to mitigate risk and improve customer experience. The Software Engineer will need to be experienced in design, implementation, and testing of front-end and back-end software applications.

What you'll be doing:

• Design and develop back-end applications, enabling secure, high performance, fault-tolerant data exchange
• Design, implement, and test software features First Orion data products
• Contribute to advancing reliability and performance of the service architecture; introduce new performance counters and instrumentation points
• Participate in the provisioning, deployment and troubleshooting of First Orion data products and services

What you'll need:

• Experience with Linux server application development
• Experience using C++, C++11, Standard Library & Algorithms
• Experience using Go within a microservices architecture
• Experience using Docker
• Database programming experience
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Bonus Points:

• Multi-threaded programming experience
• Network programming experience
• Experience parsing data structures, languages
• C++ templates
• Prior experience in telephony and communication industry
• Experience with Databricks and Spark
• Experience with Kubernetes and AWS EKS
• Development experience with high-performance low-latency fault-tolerant systems
• Knowledge of AWS-based solution creation and related experience
• Experience working with Git, Subversion or other source control system.
