Software Engineer

Infleqtion (ColdQuanta/Super.tech) is a global quantum technology company solving the world's most challenging problems. From fundamental physics to leading edge commercial products, Infleqtion enables "quantum everywhere" through our ecosystem of devices and platforms. We are recruiting for a Software Engineer.

Location

Infleqtion has 5 office locations, operating out of Boulder, CO; Madison, WI; Chicago, IL; London, UK; and Melbourne, AU. This position is a full-time, hybrid position which will be located in our Louisville, Colorado office.

Position Summary

The newly hired engineer will collaborate on current research projects and support development of new concepts and approaches for future investigations.

Job Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities outlined below include essential functions of the role. Depending on business needs, this role may perform a combination of some or all of the following duties. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned.

• Gather requirements by communicating with researchers, end users, and team members
• Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables
• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve software
• Communicate your software designs and tools through documentation and design reviews
• Collaborate with software engineers, physicists, and product owners to design and develop software solutions

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or related field and minimum 2 years' work experience; or 5 years' work experience without a Bachelor's degree
• High level of skill and experience with Python
• Experience with at least one compiled systems language, like Rust, C/C++, etc
• Skilled in typical software engineering disciplines: testing, error-handling, readability, documentation, general code health, etc.
• Proficient working in a Linux environment
• Proficient with data structures and algorithms
• Experience with embedded systems is preferred, but not required
• Knowledge of quantum mechanics is NOT required, but successful applicants should be willing to learn
• Demonstrated ability to effectively share information with technical and non-technical staff
• Demonstrated ability to learn new and complex topics quickly
• Demonstrated ability to work and communicate with all levels of an organization; Professional-level communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation skills
• Demonstrated ability to work comfortably in a highly collaborative, cross-functional, team-oriented, and matrixed environment
• Desire and demonstrated ability to thrive and produce results in a fluid, dynamic, and fast-paced environment
• Passion for solving complex problems and challenges in a highly technical and scientific environment
• Ability to travel domestically and (potentially) internationally up to 10%
• This role requires that you do not require sponsorship or a work visa transfer
