Software Engineer 5 - Media Systems

The mission of Encoding Technologies is to deliver the best A/V experiences to our members and our studio customers via media innovations. A critical component to achieve this goal is the highly scalable cloud based encoding pipelines to support generating media assets of various formats and quality levels and propagating media metadata associated with these assets across the surrounding ecosystem. Media Encoding Pipelines team focuses on developing such infrastructure to support workflow orchestration metadata publishing task prioritization and catalog management. In the recent years our scope has expanded from supporting the on demand streaming service to image generation and more recently ads. We are looking for talented engineers to join our team and elevate our system to the next level.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of working experiences using Java or similar languages and proficient in OO design principles.

• Experience in designing and developing large scale distributed systems focusing on availability throughput fault tolerance and performance.

• Good understanding of concepts like concurrency parallelism batch processing and event driven architecture.

• Experience with cloud computing platforms such as Amazon AWS.

Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family background skills and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $180000 - $560000.
