UKG is looking for a passionate JAVA developer with high volume web application experience to join our team. The Java Engineer will have experience with various object-oriented programming languages and be able to work with heavily on frontend technologies as well as implement server-side logic.• Has an excellent understanding of programming and testing concepts, design patterns, and best practices, and can translate that understanding directly to implementations• Has a deep knowledge and stays on the forefront of all development languages and frameworks utilized by our applications (Java, JavaScript, SQL, CSS, Spring, Hibernate, etc.)• Able to work autonomously on complex issues where analysis of use cases, situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors and involves investigating issues and code execution, potentially, across all levels of the application stack, from database to browser, including external libraries• Demonstrates a well-defined knowledge of design patterns and common algorithms and exercises them in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions• Quickly and efficiently find robust and effective solutions to difficult development problems• Perform insightful and constructive code reviews to help maintain and teach proper coding techniques and ensure that your fellow developers are considering all pertinent factors to prevent regression defects or the introduction of problematic code• Communicates effectively with other departments to effectively gather information required to perform duties• Can quickly resolve very difficult issues through analysis of the application code, 3rd party libraries, customer use cases, and discussion with stakeholders• Suggest methods and technologies to improve our applications and development practices• Write Unit Tests and API Integration Tests for new custom features in the product

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:• BS/MS degree in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent experience• Hands-on development experience with full stack Java based web development: SQL, Java, J2EE, MVC, React, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, JPA or Hibernate, Spring/ EJB, XML, AJAX, application servers and web servers• Strong SQL skills - including Stored Procedures, Functions, Triggers• Test-driven development experience• Track record of delivering high quality software on time• Android and iOS Mobile Development experience• Implement, manage, and improve deployments across private and public cloud platforms supporting SaaS solutions for external customers ensuring stability and performance of the applications• Develop code to automate infrastructure management and platform tooling to reduce risk of failure and time required• Set up and continuously improve monitoring tools for capacity and performance analysis of all virtualized environments to provide meaningful and actionable data• Troubleshoot technical issues for multiple environment servers and network

Preferred Qualifications:• Good communication skills• Familiar with Agile development methodologies• Automate processes (bash scripts, API calls, environment deployments) will be added advantage• This role would require being in the office 3 days per week
