Job Description Summary:
In this role, the individual will be part of the GDS Collections Data engineering team and will be responsible for: Design and implement an integrated data collections system that is extremely high-volume, fault-tolerant, scalable backend systems that process and manage petabytes of customer data
Participating and collaborating with Product Manager/ Cross functional teams in the organization to understand the business requirements and to deliver solutions that can scale.
Proactively anticipating problems and keeping the team and management informed in a timely manner.
Being flexible and being able to support all functions of product life cycle when required.
Producing quality deliverables
Adapting quickly and working in a fact paced environment
On time delivery from coarse grained requirements
Job Description:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
- 4+ years of experience in the IT industry, preferably in the Data engineering space
- Working experience in a RDBMS (Certified Teradata developer is a plus); Should have strong SQL programming skills
- Shell scripting experience with exposure to Unix/Linux
- Working knowledge on any ETL tool (i.e. Informatica/ Ab Initio).
- Knowledge of Scheduling Tools
- Exposure to any BI tools like (QlikView, Tableau, Micro strategy).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Team player, agile, flexible, multi-tasking with a passion for learning new areas
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills
- Experience in working on global teams
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge on Big data Environments is a plus (Hadoop / Spark / Hive / Kafka / HBase / Elastic Search) and Google Cloud Platform
- Exposure to Data Quality and Profiling tools is a plus.
