What is the opportunity?

As a Software Engineer you will participate in the technical design, development, testing, and implementation solutions across multiple applications and lines of business, primarily within our mainframe environment. You will partner across IT and with assigned business line(s) to assess, research, analyze business, technical and system needs and develop solutions that would resolve business needs. This is a mid-level Software Engineering role.

What will you do?

• Designs, codes, and documents programs of varying complexity using COBOL and JCL, writes unit test plans and executes unit testing for programs, and completes technical documentation and transition notes to support teams.
• Provides estimates on activities/tasks required to perform design, coding and unit testing, improving accuracy over time.
• Provides implementation and post-implementation support.
• Effectively communicates and builds rapport with team members, stakeholders and interface groups using a variety of techniques and collaboration from initiation to close.
• Continually enhances skills and builds knowledge in all aspects of the organization, the business and technologies.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

• Five or more years of experience in software development or engineering
• Strong communication and facilitation skills
• Conflicts and issues resolution and escalation
• COBOL, JCL, DB2, Endevor, SQL
• IT Standards & Methodologies, Agile experience

Nice-to-have

• Java, spring boot, Git, Helios, Jenkins
