Notified , a segment of West Technology Group , is adding a Software Engineer to our team in Woburn, Massachusetts. This position will offer a hybrid work schedule; Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday with the option of working remotely on Monday & Friday.
BASIC FUNCTION
Responsible for working on highly technical, complex projects, including developing systems that will meet the company's needs; research and recommend future technical needs to management in order to provide the most efficient and effective system for the organization while meeting the company's business objectives; participate in business meetings to identify and understand the company's goals and objectives in order to develop a system that will meet the company's current and future business needs; define project requirements by meeting with management and end users to gain a thorough understanding of project or project task needs, providing leadership and technical direction during all stages of the project.
The Software Engineer will be working on Notified's IR webcasting platform which involves its content management system, webcast player and various integrations with API's as well as working closely with other developers in a Mob/pair programming approach. Get creative with innovation weeks that allows an engineer to truly explore and innovate!
MAJOR JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Collaborative design and implementation of cloud backend services / modern user-friendly software interfaces
• Creation of tests (Unit) and documentation
• Active participation in the implementation and operation (e.g. troubleshooting) of cloud-based services
• Active participation in building and improving our continuous integration and deployment processes
• Participation (virtual or in person) in planning meetings for coordination between the Scrum teams
• Independent and joint development of solutions for complex problems
• Working in a geographically distributed team at times.
• Discuss progress with stakeholders on a regular basis and provide suggestions on process related improvement opportunities

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Applicant for this job will be expected to meet the following minimum qualifications.
Education

• Bachelor's degree from and accredited college or university in computer science, MIS, or a related field required
• Equivalent work experience in a similar position may be substituted for educational requirements.

Experience

• Minimum four years increasingly responsible programming experience using a standard coding language and/or platform required. Two years' experience writing detailed program designs for medium to large sized projects preferred. Project management experience preferred.

Technical

• Proficient in at least one back-end scripting language (PHP, Python, GO)
• Cloud exposure AWS or Azure
• SaaS
• Unit Testing
• CI/CD Jenkins
• Agile or Scrum development methodology
• Relational Database(MySQL, etc) and Messaging systems
• Proficient in Javascript and modern frameworks (ExtJS, Angular)
• Experience in all aspects of software development lifecycle
• HTML5, CSS, XML
