What You Will Do:
- Support an acquisition program office at the Life Cycle Management Center at Wright Patterson AFB, OH. Serve as a Software Engineer supporting multi-specialty teams to achieve results specified by program leadership in aircraft research, development, production, and lifecycle acquisition and sustainment activities.
- Perform evaluation and communicate program progress in writing, briefings, and discussions with Program Office and higher management.
- Participate in and, at times, lead internal and external meetings.
- Supported by a multi-discipline firm team of support contractors specializing in engineering, program management, test engineering, logistics, and financial management. Work will be conducted remote, at the Guidehouse office, and the client site as requirements dictate.
- Perform analyses to support program strategy decisions and courses of action.
- Provide technical support, plan for, coordinate, and participate in integrated program reviews and conferences, including, but not limited to, executive, readiness, technical, budget, design, weapon system, resource, requirement working groups, supportability, and management reviews.
- Develop/review/update applicable program documentation for software engineering relevant requirements.
- Support the development of the software development strategy and software development plan.
- Apply an understanding of aeronautical vehicle systems and/or airborne or related ground systems avionics capabilities to support the core engineering tasks related to software engineering.
What You Will Need:
- An ACTIVE and CURRENT SECRET federal security clearance
- Bachelor's degree and 15 years of relevant experience or MA/MS Degree and 12 years of relevant experience
- Five (5) years of experience within the DoD
- Knowledge of software engineering in support of the design, development, Test & Evaluation, implementation, maintenance
- An understanding of current DoD and AF-specific acquisition regulations, guidelines, and processes
- Administration of new and/or existing software systems experince.
- A team player attitude with the willingness to roll up your sleeves and ensure the success of the mission.
What Would Be Nice To Have:
- Ability to obtain a TS/SCI federal security clearance.
- Ten (10) or more years' experience in DoD, aircraft, or weapon systems engineering or related field.
- Accredited master's degree in software, aeronautical, mechanical, electrical engineering or related field
- DAWIA certification in another related area
- Knowledge and experience in working with FMS countries.
