The Enterprise Simulation and Studies Department (ESSD) develops high-fidelity modeling and simulation tools to perform critical analyses across a diverse set of space mission areas. We are also passionate about integrating these tools together in a distributed simulation framework to analyze the full space enterprise.
Work Model
This position can be fully remote or hybrid with onsite work in El Segundo, CA.
What You'll Be Doing
  • Engage in innovative software development, design, and architecture for new and existing mod-sim tools and libraries.
  • Collaborate with analysts/users and physics subject-matter experts on tool development needs.
  • Present status updates and accomplishments to management and U.S. Space Force customers.

What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements: (MTS Requirements)
  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or a related STEM field.
  • 3+ years of experience in software development with data structures/algorithms.
  • Proficiency in writing C/C++ from scratch and debugging/modifying large code bases.
  • Excellent communication skills, experience working independently and on teams, and confidence leading multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain a security clearance.

  • 5+ years of experience in software development with data structures/algorithms.

How You Can Stand Out
Preferred Requirements:
  • MS or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or a related STEM field.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB and Python.
  • Experience in API development, UI/UX, or cloud technologies.
  • Knowledge or curiosity about orbital mechanics, tracking/estimation theory, satellite communications, geolocation, or directed energy.

We offer a competitive compensation package where you'll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to our business. The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.

$70,999 - $123,920 - $176,842
