As a Software Engineer with Nextdoor, Inc. (San Francisco, CA) (100% Telecommuting permitted) you’ll:

• Develop scalable tools for user platform across various regions and create invitations, systems announcements, search of users, and review of posts.
• Manage internal tools of neighborhood platform.
• Define, architect and build tool systems and features.
• Work with other product engineering teams and neighborhood operations teams to define features and partner with information system team members regarding business applications.
• Utilize Python/Django, Go Language, SQL, and AWS, to develop backend frameworks.
• Gather and analyze requirements from various stakeholders and provide solution designs, and then develop and test these designs.
• Collaborate with product management and design to prioritize projects and optimize processes.

• Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or closely related technical field.
• Three (3) years of experience in the position offered or as a Full Stack Engineer, Software Developer, Software Test Engineer, or closely related position.
• In the alternative, will accept a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or closely related technical field followed by five (5) years of progressive, post-bachelor’s experience as a Full Stack Engineer, Software Developer, Software Test Engineer, or closely related position.
• Must have demonstrated experience in the following: Utilizing Python, Django, and Javascript to build highly scalable applications to meet business requirements; Utilizing AWS, AWS S3, Elastic Search, and Redis to design and maintain application scalability at any application tier; Developing Application Program Interfacing using programming languages, such as Python, Django, JavaScript, Node.js, Flask, or Scala; Developing and prototyping user Interface using Javascript, jQuery and React; Designing critical modules, including authentication, user verification and activity controls, messaging, search, social graph, user profile management, payments, caching, and photos; and Utilizing Slack and Datadoc to create logging and monitoring tools.

The starting salary for this role is expected to range from $183,310 to $183,310 on an annualized basis. 

We also expect to award a meaningful equity grant for this role. With equal quarterly vesting, your first vest date would be within the first 3 months of your start date.

Overall, total compensation will vary depending on your relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
