About the role:

UKG is seeking a Software Engineer to join our Payroll Software Engineering team. The engineer will design and build new features, identify and correct defects, and ensure the quality of critical regulatory updates for our UKG Pro Payroll enterprise offering. The engineer will bring a drive to tackle complex technical and business problems and craft manual and automated test coverage to ensure that our solutions deliver a reliable, performant and enjoyable experience for our customers and their employees. The engineer must be passionate and enthusiastic about the quality of their work and thrive in a collaborative, "team-first" environment. The engineer will be respected and trusted and become a valued member of the Payroll family.

• Experience developing cutting-edge solutions to maximize performance, scalability, and distributed processing capabilities • Develop, test, build and deploy coding solutions for both existing legacy systems and net new development initiatives with emphasis on building and deploying solutions • Proven understanding of enterprise-scale OOP software utilizing SaaS design principles • Partner with technical lead or architect to come up with designs for complex features that are high quality, performant and ensure proper use of the product • Proven proficiency with departmental tools and procedures, i.e. TeamCity, Kubernetes, Git, Jira, or equivalent • Feature deployment support to team thru TeamCity pipelines and Kubernetes apps. • Proficient with Microsoft Sql server and MySQL with good understanding of data structures • Proven experience in writing and implementing unit, system, and integration tests • Ability to troubleshoot and perform root-cause-analysis for system-related issues in Enterprise level software • Ability to mentor and train new engineers joining the team in technology, tools, procedure, standards, and guidelines for the department • Proven ability to work independently or as part of a team to coordinate and implement solutions

Qualifications

About you:

Basic Qualifications:• 2+ years experience with OOP, Data Structures and Algorithms • Experience with SaaS (Software as a Service), PaaS (Platform as a Service), and IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) solutions • Experience with the development of API's, Web Services and Forms development in .net and angular • Working experience coding in C#, Java, or JavaScript

Preferred Qualifications:• 2+ years experience engaging with software/test engineers on enterprise level software development projects • Experience setting up and maintaining Team City pipelines • Experience creating Kubernetes applications • Understanding of Agile or Lean Software Development experience such as Kanban or Scrum • Ability to successfully work within a team and manage a dynamic environment with rapidly changing priorities • Excellent problem-solving skills • Positive team player attitude with excellent verbal and written communication skills • Proactively learning new methodologies that will enhance job performance • High degree of organizational skills • Strong written and verbal communication skills
